VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE

Here is a list of role descriptions for our various volunteer opportunities.

  • Camp-I-Can – weekly gym activities

Pre-School

  • Early Childhood Greeters
    Volunteer will be responsible for manning the reception area. This will include welcoming guests, answering phone and organizing reception area. Will also assist with organizing classroom materials, mailings to families and other clerical type duties.
    Monday – Friday: 12 PM to 2:30 PM
    1-2 volunteers willing to support preschool a minimum of 2 days per week per volunteer:

  • Home Visitation Program Support
    Volunteer will be responsible for organizing and preparing home visitation materials – to include copying, collating, organization of supplies and preparing intake packets. Volunteer would also help with planning bi-annual graduation events for 3 year olds.
    Thursday / Friday: 9:30 AM – 12 PM
    Location: Parent Education – 5051 Duck Creek
  • Early Childhood School Family Night
    Provide/serve dinner to families and staff.
    Provide and complete a craft/activity with the children.

Elementary

  • STEM (hands on science activities) in Upper School and Lower School
    Fridays: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
  • Fun Friday
    Provide activities and supplies.
    Fridays: 12:00 PM – 1:45 PM

High School

  • STEM (hands on science activities) in Upper School and Lower School
    Fridays: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Special Events

  • Judge Science Fair (April)
    Students are judged/graded following specific rubric.
  • Art Fair (May)
    Annually: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Mock Interviews
    Volunteers interview students as if they are interviewing for an actual job.
    Scores are given following a specific rubric.

Agency/Administrative

  • Front Desk Reception
    The primary objective of the Front Desk personnel is to maintain a positive image of Best Point Education & Behavioral Health to clients, callers, visitors and guests through the responsibility of greeting or directing them.
    Primary Duties Include:
    • Operate the switchboard, greet and direct clients and visitors.
    • Provide general support to all agency staff including typing, working with spreadsheets and forms, faxing, copying, and special projects assigned.

    Times needed:

    • Monday – Friday: 8 AM – 12 PM & 12 PM to 4 PM
  • Lunchroom duty/supervision for students in grades K-8 (Emery Cafeteria)
    Daily: 10:45 AM – 12:00 PM
    Individual or Group (Max 2)
  • Best Point Resource Center
    Unpack, organize, and update inventory as needed.
    Thursdays 2:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Help staff shop for needed items and log inventory.
