Best Point Education & Behavioral Health celebrated the grand opening of the Western & Southern Childcare & Wellness Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 21. The event marked the completion of a state-of-the-art, two-story building designed to expand early childhood education and therapeutic wellness services, enabling Best Point to serve more than 200 children and families in the community.
Guests gathered at the serene, park-like setting on an eight-acre lot just blocks from Best Point’s current CoStars Early Childhood facility. The new center represents a significant step toward bridging the gap in services for children in need on Cincinnati’s west side, offering programs such as CoStars Early Education Center, Camp-I-Can Summer Camp, After School Care, Growing Stars Therapeutic Classroom, Parent Cafés, Family Success Network, Home Visiting, SPARK Early Literacy Program, Counseling & Therapy, Behavioral Support, and Wellness Education.
The morning featured remarks from John Banchy, President & CEO of Best Point Education & Behavioral Health, who welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for the collaboration that made the project possible. John Barrett, President & CEO of Western & Southern Financial Group, also shared remarks, along with Ohio Senator Steve Wilson who presented a President’s Letter signed by the Hamilton County Legislative Delegation. Representatives Dani Isaacshon & Mike Odioso offered a special commendation and additional remarks came from Green Township Trustee Chairman Triffon Callos and LaNora Godfrey, President & CEO of the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board. The event concluded with closing remarks from Best Point Board Chair John Bultema, III, followed by the official ribbon cutting.
Reflecting on the day, John Banchy said, “It was a wonderful morning celebrating the incredible support from our partners and community. This new center represents what we can accomplish together to strengthen families and provide vital resources for children.”
Special thanks go to the major sponsors who helped make this project possible: Western & Southern Financial Group, Louise H and David S Ingalls Foundation, Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, Youth Resiliency, The Louise Taft Semple Foundation, and Millstone Fund.
